In-session gaming as a tool in treating adolescent problematic gaming

A new publication on using an adaptation of MDFT to treat problematic gaming among adolescents was published in the journal Family Process in 2022. As we know, for some adolescent gamers, playing online games may become problematic, impairing functioning in personal, family, and other life domains. The article presents the treatment adaptation, applying in-session gaming, first to establish an alliance between the therapist and the youth, and then as an intervention during family sessions.
